For our Catalyst video project, our group decided to focus on the check-out process for laptops in the Catalyst. In my experience, even more interesting than the process of making the video itself was the information I learned about the Catalyst while brainstorming video ideas. Prior to this project, I had no idea that students could check out laptops from the front desk. I also was unaware of the Maker Space and other basic resources available to students within the College of Education.
The video-making process was very easy for this project. For previous projects, I used my computer to construct videos with iMovie. For this project, we had a group member assemble it directly from their iPad using the iMovie app. This made the video making process much easier. If I were to assign a similar project with students, I would want to ensure all students had access to an in-app option for their video compilation. Otherwise, it could become too time-consuming, as sending videos between devices can take quite a bit of time. If you want to see the video our group created, check out the link below! We had a lot of fun making it. Hopefully this is evident in the final-product. Using the Catalyst: Laptop Checkout Procedures
