This week on Apple Teacher I explored the iMovie application for iPad. I've had experience using iMove for a couple of school projects in the past, and each time I am impressed by how easy it is to use. iMovie is the perfect video-editing application for laypeople like myself. It's drag-and-drop nature make it easy to incorporate multiple video clips into one project. Plus, the sound settings, title slides, and transitions help give projects a quality feel.
In the classroom, I could see iMovie being a useful application for students to use for digital presentations. For my content area, iMovie could be useful for facilitating projects mirroring famous cooking shows like "Chopped" or "Top Chef". Students could document the various steps of their project, and use iMovie to present the information in an engaging way for the whole class to enjoy. While PowerPoint certainly has its place, I think students will enjoy the versatility and creativity afforded by iMovie.
